I'm at the point in my career where I feel like I'm finally discovering my voice as an artist, but also as a human. I wanted my story to reflect that intention, my aim was to create a visual poetic love letter to the connection between humans and imagination. It's a special place where magic exists and fairytales are reality infused with the Japanese philosophy of imperfection, impermanence & incompletion called wabi sabi. The title Mer is a play off of the concept of a mermaid, a magical creature that comes to take our young boy into the ocean where the rest of his life awaits him.
