The legend of the magical grindstone is a fairy-tale retelling of a typical Italian folklore figure 'l'arrotino' (the grinder).He shouts in the streets with a recorded tape, which is the same for every grinder in Italy, saying that he repairs knives and stoves. No one knows what he actually does. For me, he is a fallen baron who made a pact with the spirits to become famous and rich and become a circus performer.
