I wrote the very first iteration of the script in May 2021. At that point, I had taken three semesters off from school and was unsure if I had the motivation to get my degree. Deciding that I wanted to make this film motivated me. I wanted to tell a story about a seemingly quiet and pragmatic young Black woman as she tries to navigate the next phase of her life after tragedy. 'Jaded' is a tender exploration of the complexities of moving forward in the face of long-term trauma.
