In Memoriam is a reflection on my dad's reaction to my paternal grandfather's death in 2015.
In the film, the protagonist Jo observes her father from a distance, unable to understand why his reaction is so visceral and failing to find that similar feeling within herself. She is almost afraid to be included; she cannot bear to see her father cry. It's a story about love and support. My purpose is to communicate the importance of learning that your parents are not always one kind of people - they need your empathy as much as you need theirs.
