About this Video
As a queer woman of color, I believe this story is important to tell. Inspired by a true story, Heart Candies Taste Like Chalk explores the ramifications that homophobia has on today's youth. I hope this short film not only serves as a wake-up call to those who need to be more accepting, but also shows those experiencing homophobia that they are not alone. Additionally, this film was made by a primarily queer, female, and/or ethnically diverse team; I made this story in part because it resonated so deeply with them.
