About this submission

My identical twin brother and I have always wanted to feel known, especially because our individual identity is so often masked by our outward similarities. With "First Chair," our experience in the pressures of music school became a metaphor for the way we tend to search for attention, even at the cost of losing a part of ourselves. To us, being first chair in a school band represents much more than meets the eye (and ear). Perhaps attention can keep us from being truly known.
