"Fake Friend" is a cautionary tale inspired by an idea I had once to make a quick buck in college. I wanted to display witty dialogue and dynamic characters, and "Fake Friend" was a perfect opportunity to do that with the specific guidelines filming on a smartphone and staying under five minutes. This project was my first ever fully completed screenplay, acting role, and directing experience. I submitted it to the 11th Annual Smartphone Film Festival at University of California, Riverside, where I earned the award for Best Director out of 22 films.
