A hockey-obsessed 13-year-old girl is uprooted to Southern California and, with newly limited options, she's determined to make the local boys team in order to keep playing. But on the day of tryouts, she finds resistance from her mom, her teammates, and a notoriously difficult hockey parent.

This is the opening/character introduction from a longer short film script idea inspired by my experiences: before playing women’s college hockey, I played for years as the only girl on a boys team. The situations that ensued ranged from hilarious to devastating, and I'd love to translate the experience into a fun and high energy comedy-drama. Notes appreciated!
