Ever since I was a little girl, I've always loved fairytales and magical realism. Growing up as an immigrant, it was a form of escape to a world of comfort for me. And as I've gotten older, it's something I've experimented with in writing, but not in any of the short projects I have done — until now. With limited resources and time, I decided to tell a story about grief, loss, and separation in a musical and magical way so I can learn more about my skills as a filmmaker, while telling a story that many can relate to.
