"Affection" portrays the mental struggle of a young person in their 20s, who strives for more yet doesn't know what this 'other' signifies. The story is heavily inspired by my own experience as a young adult living through important years of my life being affected by a global pandemic. I decided to move away from my roots in Germany and found creative inspiration in Portugal. Here I saw myself feeling lost and found, a common emotion I wanted to portray in a visual way as it seems much easier to be carefully shown with images than told with words.
