About this Video
A Sense of the Home was my first-ever narrative project, and the first film I completed during my three-year residency at Syracuse University.
A Sense of the Home is an allegorical tale about a promised failure; either to regress and stay in a destructive state of known discomfort, or choose to leave into the unknown possibility of comfort and leave everything you know behind.

Monae Kyhara, is an Texas and New York based emerging creative focused on an introspective style of multimedia filmmaking and cinematography called "Tantrum Cinema". Having the opportunity to screen films at a variety of establishments, such as BlueStar, Slab Cinema, and Mixology with Undiscovered Works, and the Images Festival she is now two years into her MFA while working as a technical assistant for the Urban Video Project at Syracuse University in Syracuse, NY.
