Catherine Alderete - Sundance Collab

Catherine Alderete is a recent first-gen Mexican-American graduate from UC San Diego. Growing up in Los Angeles, particularly in the San Gabriel Valley, her dream was always to become a filmmaker. She is deeply connected to her Mexican-American community and is driven to help others from her city succeed in pursuing their aspirations. Her recent film, La Paloma, has been selected to screen at the 31st San Diego Latino Film Festival.

Alfred (Jake Noren), a private detective, investigates the murder of his childhood friend, Ted. With no evidence to solve the case, the trial has gone cold. An overwhelming sense of guilt engulfs Alfred, leading him to return to the scene of the crime on intuition. Instead, he finds himself face-to-face with a familiar figure, Peggy (Isabella Cruz) and becomes entangled in a gruesome fate inside this surrealist theater.
