Helloooo I'm Ava and I'm an actor/writer/director based in Los Angeles CA and Brooklyn NY. I got my BFA in Acting from CalArts. My work as a writer/director often takes on a dark-comedic and whimsical tone, centering oddball/misfit characters in all of their vulnerability. My short films Kitty Kitty and Cowards, and web series A Person Named Universal Love, have been featured in online-indie-film spheres such as MUBI, NoBudge, and Directors Notes. Cowards was also screened at The IFC Center in New York. I recently finished writing my first screenplay and am diving into my second :) Recent acting credits include the new play Calf Scramble by Libby Carr at the Ojai Playwrights Conference. I have a love for Clowning/Improv and I'm a student at The Groundlings and The Idiot Workshop.

This is a short documentary film about my mother, her mother, and the shared love of pets between us 3. Named after the cat of my grandmother I never met, I was compelled to uncover the ways we are similar across time and space. Echoes of each other.Sisterhood and motherhood and "repeated lives" is a rich subject I'm continuing to explore in a feature film script.
