This film began as an introspection of one memory: the trauma of being homeless as a child. I felt that friendship saved me. Having grown up on this island, I chose to film on location for authenticity and inclusion of the locals. This includes my lead actor, who I first met as a shell-shocked boy. However, through the liberating process of filming I watched him flourish. On the last day, his father left me a heartfelt “thank you”. The end product is an embodiment of my objectives in filmmaking and a personal practice of healing for all involved.
