Coming from a diasporic background and moving around a lot as an adult, I've always been fascinated with looking at the traditions and cultures we import, and the significance it carries such as memory and history. What interests me about this is how we shape and fit characters, dreams, and ideas from this importation into our own narrative. And so, the story in this film highlights the tensions between modern and traditional identities, and how we are constantly battling with ourselves in finding balance and synchronicity between the two.
