Youthless is the story of Dusty, a middle-aged hair dresser in rural Georgia, her daughter Britney, and Britney's four year old daughter Maddy. Dusty learns that not only is her daughter using heroin again, but she's been hitting Maddy. This discovery triggers old memories of generational abuse, and without thinking, Dusty takes Maddy and seeks the help of her estranged brother, Joey—in Miami.

Youthless deals with dark subject matter, but I've tried to infuse the story with the mouthy humor and attitude of the Southern women I grew up with. I want the story to explore the difficult bonds of family, the societal and religious pressure women feel to look and be perfect, and the meaning of womanhood.
