About this Video
After hearing my mother tell fragmented stories about her experience growing up during the Salvadoran Civil War, and doing my own research into the history I was never taught, I wanted to make a film that addressed the violence of erasing history. The experimental form is a conscious break from traditional documentary forms that may seek to be objective around complex issues like war and injustice. In this narrative, history cannot be separated from the personal perspectives of those who lived through its trauma.
