About this submission

This story is personal because growing up Black in America can often lead black kids to experience an identity crisis. I still don’t know much about my culture since it was taken from my ancestors. I grew up all these years feeling as if I had no culture or ties to my ancestor's cultural traditions, styles, and food. However, I later realized how prevalent Black American culture. Also, how I do have a culture, but a culture that was created from the diaspora. So, I decided to look deeper and explore the culture and lifestyle within my family.
