I identify as a disabled woman of color and I have always been passionate about my community and the ways we build unique ways of care. This project is important because I find it vital to portray an experience that is common but easily made invisible. My own experiences have isolated me in many ways and I hope to build community through this project while also evoking new imagined possibilities for those who are similarly isolated. I am also interested in exploring how to give agency to the subject in documentary practice so that it is more collaborative versus exploitative.
