'Walking Nights' is an animated experimental film using multiple animation styles and interviews to weave together the story of an old friendship ritual. Together, we mourn the loss of childhood and play. Yet, we return to the sacred space of our ritual to find hope, direction, and resilience for the future. There are many ableist and unrealistic expectations of what being with others “should” look like. As capitalism alienates us from ourselves and each other, neurodivergence and queerness create parallel dimensions where we can be together on our own terms.
