As a Mexican-Norwegian raised in the south, it was a brutal when I realized I had been placed in stereotypical “boxes” made for me because of where I came from and what I looked like. More challenging was when I realized I didn’t fit into any of them. Identity can feel suffocating when you’re not enough of one thing or another.
I see myself in Fox, a young girl who rejects her culture, because of the fear of not belonging. Like Fox, it wasn’t until I fully embraced who I was, that I realized my full potential.
