About this submission

I chose to tell this specific story after being inspired by the surreal work of David Lynch and Maya Deren, and the stop-motion mastery of Jan Svankmajer. I wanted to make a film about person-object interactions using surreal methods I have come across in the work of these directors. Using stop-motion the table become "more" than a table, it comes to life and ends up transporting the protagonist to where she needs to be. The film explores our relationships with the seemingly mundane, and encourages us to look a little closer at things than we do at first glance.
