I created this story with my love for ballroom and queer culture in New York. I think LGTBQ and POC stories always tend to be tragic stories, especially the ones told from the 90's. I wanted to give an homage to the light, happiness, and security that surrounded ballroom culture during a time that the world was neglecting them. Telling stories of those who represent parts of my identity is important to me as a filmmaker and director. Although I faced some challenges in the making of this, I still hold the process and making of it dear to me.
