My friend Cayla Berejikian wanted to write a story that properly showed the kind of confusion a modern romance brings. I loved the isolation and loneliness I sensed in the script; and I saw it to be a story of two people leaning on each other to fix a problem that they couldn't express into words. I wanted to tell a story of two people hoping that they were in love. To me, that felt much more tender and honest than other romances I've read.
