About this Video
When I was seventeen years old, my left lung unexpectedly collapsed during class in my senior year of high school. I experienced a spontaneous pneumothorax, and as a result, I needed surgery. The event was scary and it changed my life.
I wanted to turn turn this story into art. As a filmmaker, I sought to create a personal, human-centered movie that provided a cathartic outlet for me to explore my emotion, while simultaneously showcasing my nuanced home state of Rhode Island.
My injury affected me deeply, and by breathing life into my narrative, I was able to heal.
