About this submission

Hunger is the consequence of the world's simplest problem - Food Wastage. We have enough to feed everyone but lose a lot because of wastage. The film tells the story of a super colony, which learns to line in oneness.

Too many people are hungry not because there is a dearth of food. It is because there is a dearth of love and care in human hearts. The film questions — You think you are a person? You are a colony.

Shweta Marathe

Shweta Marathe is an Animation Film Director and Design Educator based in Mumbai with an unbound love for storytelling. She graduated from the National Institute of Design (NID) in 2021, specializing in Communication Design. Her films and collaborations have been awarded and screened at national and international film festivals, and she has been an Honorary Member of ASIFA Central (USA) since September 2023. She takes pride as a Tribe Advisor for Sony Talent League (STL III), Industry Advice Series - for Asians in Animation (AIA), and is the Mumbai City Co-Lead for Women in Animation – India Collective (WIA-IC), supporting and celebrating women’s creative talent. In 2024, Shweta co-founded Skyluma Productions® with her sister, a film production studio dedicated to producing and supporting high-quality independent cinema. more...
