“Sunflowers” examines notions of grief, forgiveness, and chosen family through the perspective of Annette, a recent widow who has been unable to venture outside since the tragic loss of her wife, Cynthia. Annette’s status of physical and familial exile is challenged when her estranged sister Margo shows up on her doorstep some 15 years after their last meeting.
