I've been yearning to create art that represents my internal tension as a first-generation Malian-American. I wanted to create film that vulnerably negotiates the disparity between the African self and the inner child. To visualize a space for refuge, inquiry, and reunion for the two dichotomies amid chaos. So, this piece is a film, centered around the harmony of music, surrealism, and poetry, that works through this dynamic.
