One summer my car was broken into and I had left a lot of personal belongings in it, including some jewelry that my mother gave to me before she died. I questioned where the jewelry had gone, and whether the people who had stolen it kept it for themselves or pawned it off. Then I kept thinking further about it. If they did pawn it then who bought it and what reason? My intention was to turn a bad event into something hopeful which inspired me to create, Stolen.
