I interpreted this clip as a sort of spiritual storm, something supernatural but not in the traditional scary sense but more of an intriguing transitional experience into the afterlife or being reincarnated. I wanted the sound design to reflect this as having both dark and more uplifting elements. A sort of in between that you couldn’t quite put your finger on. I involved edited natural sounds such as human breathing and animal movement and paired them with more structured man-made recordings such as metallic objects to tie two contrasting worlds together.
