As a typical teen, I have always been attracted to modern cinema: snappy plots, high contrast, big stars. Despite this craving, I also know I have to dive into the past to be a successful filmmaker. That's why, I began a comprehensive study of the farthest thing from movies today: the silent era. I watched films like The Passion of Joan of Arc and reflected on what made them iconic. Utilizing this analysis, I created a film that took the successful elements of the silent era and combined them with contemporary questions regarding queerness.
