In creating “She’s got you,” I wanted to focus on the important role that friends/family play in supporting victims of sexual assault. Although ideally we could find a way to prevent these incidents, cases only continue rising. Therefore, an additional emphasis needs to be placed on educating common people on ways to support SA survivors.

“She’s Got You” highlights the worst case scenario; After undergoing a traumatic assault, Arya’s friends only compound the pain by victim blaming. Not only does their reactivity inhibit her from voicing what happened, but their inability to show support leaves Arya more broken than ever.
