I knew my sexuality from a young age, but struggled accepting myself. I grew up on Long Island in a big Irish Catholic family. Perhaps my middle child syndrome is to blame, but for so long I felt like I needed to blend with the culture around me. A culture that is inundated with life-long suburbanites who refuse to look outside the borders of their town lines where everyone lives, acts and looks the same. I wanted to make this film to shed light on the experience of being gay in this world, and what navigating that felt like.
