About this submission

“Rights of Man”, a metaphoric movie that carries the same title as Thomas Paine’s work “The Rights of Man” from 1791 was shot in Lithuania, inter alia in the dunes at Nida with the border to Kaliningrad visible close by. I and the whole team experienced the unsettling fear felt by Lithuanians and its Ukraine refugees about the development of the war in Ukraine. With the ongoing Black Lives Matter movement in the US and worldwide conflicts “The Rights of Man” are as current as they were in 1791 when people fought for Liberty, Equality and Fraternity.

As a teenager, Micha Strecker started writing, producing, and directing his own movies and founded his Production Company Open Cage Pictures in 2015, with which he realized his first feature “Laced Silk”, a drama that was selected by the Portobello Film Festival, and his latest thriller "Rights of Man" which premiered in New York as part of the Big Apple Film Festival. more...
