I wanted to tell a story that reflected my anxieties about leaving college and entering a world of unknows. "Portraits" is a film about chasing a way of life, the fear of the unknown, and how obsession can corrupt a person. These are all fears and struggles that I have faced in my filmmaking career, and I wanted to use these experiences to build complex characters and an emotional story.
