I have had too many of my black male friends struggle emotionally and cope with drugs and or self-inflicted or community violence. I wanted to share a story that shares the love that me and my friends have for each other and the ways that we emotionally caretake for each other. I am building an aesthetic of black tenderness and tender masculinity. Unfortunately, there aren't many representations of Black men caring for each other, so I wanted to add some into the conversation around Black masculinity.
