NAMIKO is inspired by an astrology sign - Pisces. Pisces's tendency is to escape from reality and enter its own world, which tends to them resorting to silence rather than communication. With that, NAMIKO dramatizes these characteristics and tells the story of Namiko - a girl who yearns to become a mermaid. Her extreme take on trying to become a mystical creature is a direct correlation to an identity existential crisis, a consequence of denying reality. Therefore, NAMIKO is a response to people who have impractical dreams in which they isolate themselves until they are trapped in their own world.
