After strongly connected to her family’s history while facing her own struggles as an immigrant in the United States, Fernanda Parrado (the filmmaker herself) analyzes how she and her grandfather shared the same necessity of constant movement as a form of rebirth and their endless search of self-identity. Based on the experiences of these two immigrants, Metamorphosis is a poetic representation dedicated to the empowerment of all immigrants and their struggles: “So that they can keep moving, migrating like we did. In our own, constant metamorphosis.”
