Mary and her mother Sybille feel lost after the sudden death of Mary’s father. In her shocked state Sybille is receptive to the comfort an obscure cult, ‘The Children of Mendax’, seems to offer. The group is made of a controlling matriarch, committed followers and a friendly lesbian. While Sybille flourishes in this new world, Mary starts to rebel. The situation intensifies when the son of the recently imprisoned cult leader announces a visit.
