About this Video
I wanted to create Let Her Eat Cake to channel all the years I spent believing that I took up too much space into a short film about acceptance. Eating disorders and body image issues are often dismissed by the Black community as “white people problems,” but I wanted to show that these issues affect Black women as well, especially within the sport of gymnastics. By crafting this narrative, I want to let young women of color who have struggled with body acceptance know that they are not alone.
