About this submission
I had no idea what was happening as I spiraled into my first panic attack. I did know, however, that I’d rather not have my 9th grade Latin class watching. While pre-teens are warned of an onslaught of physical shifts, little is done to help us cope with our disoriented, anxious brains. My piece underscores the clunkiness of growing up, and how understanding our body and mind is an ongoing, rewarding battle.
