About this submission

The movement and theatre artists featured in the film, Duane and Chi, and I bonded over shared family backgrounds; themes we had in common were jealousy, guilt, sacrifice, resentment and love. Despite the pain we each experienced in our upbringing, we were all grateful that we found our way back to love. This resulted in the narrative for KAPATID. The film follows a traditional story arc, but is told through light, sound, movement and the body. We hoped to connect with the audience on a visceral level, reflecting how changes in our most intimate relationships affect us viscerally too.
