I chose to tell this specific story about friendship and tensions between 3 college-aged females because I wanted to challenge the traditional and formulaic 3 Act Structure of Hollywood storytelling. I wanted to experiment with character development and challenge the psychological infliction of the characters on to the audience. My goal was to not give the viewer much of an ending at all, but to remind them that they are watching a movie, a construct that was carefully designed and crafted to influenced their interpretation and emotional response. Casting all women in the film was critical to challenge these notions.
