About this submission

‘I’m not naive enough to be a girl’ is based on an essay I wrote about my struggle with transitioning out of girlhood and finally understanding the complexities of what it means to be a woman. 'I'm too, much and not enough and almost sometimes barely enough' - It explores the origins of guilt, shame and self-loathing that pertains to so many women and what it means to grapple those feelings while fighting to return to the naivety of being a ‘girl’.
