About this submission

I chose to tell the story of a Hispanic immigrant on their first day of school in America because that is my story and the story of thousands of ESL students in this country. Latino(a) representation in mainstream media is not much, and the little things that we get do not fully represent us. Now, imagine being part of such a niche student subgroup, then it becomes almost impossible to see yourself on screen. I would like current ESL students to watch themselves in my film and see that they have a future in this country and in the world.
