Kay is the writer of the 2019 Feature The MisEducation of Bindu produced by Roolala Productions and Pigasus Pictures. She played a seminal role in accruing over $60,000 for the film on the Seed & Spark Crowdfunding Platform, winning the Hometown Heroes’ Grand Prize, and drawing the attention of the Duplass Brothers to executive produce. The MisEducation of Bindu toured the festival circuit screening at Mill Valley Film Festival, Heartland Film Festival, The Atlanta Film Festival and The San Diego International Film Festival as well as others. Bindu has been picked up by MarVista for distribution. A graduate of Chapman University's Screenwriting MFA program and a prestigious Knott Scholar, Kay’s writing placements and wins include The Nicholl Screenwriting Fellowships, Script Pipeline and The Austin Film Festival. As a director, her first film, Wine Bottles, premiered at Her Night of Film, won Best Drama at The Silver State Film Festival, and Best LGBT Film at the Marina Del Rey Film Festival. She is also a 2020 Women in Film Peer Circle Mentee. Straddling the analytical and the creative, Tuxford graduated in 2002 from Northern Arizona with a degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry before transitioning into filmmaking.
