I chose this story because of an image. I was sitting in class one day, bored out of my mind when I imagined a man sitting by himself, sparkler in one hand, a piece of cake in another. He was alone at his own birthday party. That image meant that there can be so many people around you who love you, but you still feel alone meant something to me, so I decided to make a movie about that.
