About this submission

Generations of Pulse, co-directed by Tamera Moore, represents my five year journey of reporting on the LGBTQ community, telling stories that intricately place trauma and resiliency at the forefront of our understanding. As a queer person from the rural community of Yosemite, storytelling stood as a key mode of understanding my identity. In pursuing a career as a documentary filmmaker this understanding continues to be a guiding force. To be able to explore identity, through the lens of Pulse, served as a cathartic experience that brought me deep into grief and the need for community in the midst of tragedy.
