This story, while simple, is emblematic of the production that created GIRLGENIUS. It is DIY at its core and shot by a skeleton crew with no budget, similar to the project the girls are creating in the film. While the story is simple, and the project was difficult to create due to a lack of technical support, the shot design and structure of the story reflect my sensibilities as a director. It's grounded, honest, avant-garde at times, but it is ultimately a story of female friendship and creativity.
