I've always felt fascinated with super 8 film due to the visual aesthetic, and wanted to challenge myself by choosing to create a narrative short film within the technological constraints of the camera. I wanted to particularly capture the feeling of nostalgia, and also explore a more personal perspective, so I chose to capture scenes set in my childhood neighborhood of LA that I usually don't see portrayed in media. I ultimately wanted to paint my neighborhood in the visual dreamy aesthetic of Wong Kar-wai, and see how it can be transformed into a setting for a bustling story.
